Interview with Renae from “Life Nurturing Education”

My blog Life Nurturing Education began in June 2007. The idea began months earlier, but I’m slow making decisions. My brain is like a crock pot. Thoughts simmer 4-6 hours on low before serving.

I write about homeschooling, faith, and family.

The first step is to decide why you want to blog. Knowing the purpose helps you focus and endure.

Having discussions via comments is one of my favorite aspects of blogging. I appreciate different personalities and perspectives. Whether refreshing or challenging, comments add much to my thoughts.

Taking care of my family keeps me busy, so finding time to blog is a challenge. I usually write in the evenings after everyone is asleep. Sunday afternoon is usually spent in front of the computer, as well.
We have two computers, so I either blog in the kitchen or the school room/entryway. Someday I’ll get a laptop, and blog in the backyard while the kids play.

PrincipledMom is the the first blog I ever read, and it is still one of my favorites.

My relationship with God and my love for family fill me with hope. Little things inspire me: springtime daffodils, children’s hugs, clean laundry, and, of course, naps.

The homeschool blogging community is full of encouragement. I find insightful tips for lessons and honest evaluations of motherhood. It helps to know I’m not alone during this season of growing.
