Go Workout Mom

I started blogging for friends and family in 2004 when we were stationed in Japan. Go Navy! However, I was very inconsistent and would go months between posts. I am now a Stay-At-Home Mom to two toddlers. I seriously took up blogging when I won an internship to try out a new course called Blog Mastermind in June 2007. With only one income for the home, it is always nice to find other venues to bring a little extra cash into the house. I love to write and interact with people. I’m intrigued by the blogosphere. I think the network and comarderie are terrific social mediums. For six months, I have learned so much about blogging and have been challenged to take on projects that would have taken me years to develop.

My favorite blogs are Workout Mommy. She and I have very similar attitudes toward fitness and she’s full of motivation and positive vibes! is quickly becoming a favorite stop for me. She has wonderful tips and ideas on how to handle toddlers. I can use all of them. With my new desire to create a vegetable garden and a seating area garden, I am taking in all the advice of .

My advice for blogging newbies is to enjoy what you write about, interact with your readers, and if you really want to make money, be patient and consistent in developing your blog. Six months into this journey (with expert training), and I’m just starting to see a small cash inflow. I think it’s so important to love what you do and don’t be afraid to share your thoughts, dreams and struggles in cyberspace. You’ll find a tremedous support system in the cyberfriends you make.

I love to chat with my visitors. My favorite series is the
Goal Call Mondays. Sharing the journey of people’s achievements and challenges has been the best experience in blogging.

Being a mom of two toddlers, I am very flexible in setting aside time for blogging. Some days, I can get a couple of hours in before they wake up, during their naps and when they go to bed. Other days, I’m lucky to find time to check email. Most of the time, I get at least two to three hours a day sitting at my home computer with a cup of coffee nearby. When my hubbie is watching the kiddos, I can sometimes sneak away to the coffee shop and write an article or two.

I have that I hope to start keeping up regularly. I like to share things that are going on in our everyday life. Plus, it’s another way to comment upon all the crazy things going on in the world.

I needed to be challenged mentally and physically outside of the role of being mom. When I started blogging on fitness, I was certified as a specialist, but had not completed my Personal Trainer Certification. I know there is a ton of information on the internet for health and fitness. However, a blog focused on a Mom’s Journey/Perspective at an informative level seems less explored. Most personal trainers focus on selling their subscriptions/expertise rather than blogging. Plus, as a mother to two and even though I have the knowledge, I have run into a wall when it comes to committing myself to the physical activity I need to be healthy. I know other Moms must be dealing with the same challenge. Because I devoted
Go Workout Mom to fitness, I became active again, certified as a Personal trainer and feel great.
