Interview with Kelli from “Living In Grace”

“Living In Grace”

http://www.living-in-grace.net

This started out as just a place to list updates on my dialysis situation. As I started finding other moms out there who blogged, it became so much more.

I have made some deep, lasting friendships with other women that I might not ever had made.

This has also become a ministry in certain ways. I have been able to connect with other moms going through various challenges in their lives, and we have become a valued support system to each other.

I believe I first posted in the spring of 2006. The month I began home dialysis.

Oh gosh. Really, I Have no set themes. I have two young teens, and a work from home husband. Between that, and dialysis … there is alot to choose from.

I couldn’t possible list them. There are so, so many and I’m finding new ones all the time.

It’s such an exciting journey- it seems like you connect with some bloggers through a season, and some just sink in your heart forever.

I will say that there are over 150 in my Bloglines right now.

Be yourself. Don’t pressure yourself to be like someone else.

Write about what you know. What is in your heart.

Never bash your family or friends to the public. Relationships are sacred.

Visit other blogs, through resources like 5 Minutes for Moms.

You’ll find a lot of new blogfriends through comments left on others blogs, as well as your own. People tend to let their personalities shine through in how they comment. I can’t tell you how many new friends I’ve made when I’ve read a comment they left and thought “Yeah!” or “That sounds like something I would say”.

Respond to comments that are left for you. Dialouge is always an icebreaker.

Be responsible when you comment. If you wouldn’t say it in person and stand behind it- son’t say it, and don’t hide behind “anonymous”.

Have fun. Enjoy it. It’s not a contest. It’s all about your passions and engaging your reader in your life :)

Ab-so-lute-ly. That’s one of the best things!

My immediate family knows about it, but don’t read it. However, I do get permission from them if I’m going to post about them individually. I think that’s only right.

Especially as we navigate through the teen years.

Uh, too much.

A friend of mine from high school is a pastor out of state. I found his blog and was following his ministry. He emailed me one day about how I was doing and asked if I had a blog he could check for updates …

Voila!

A blog was born.

Besides the one above, Sarah’s In The Midst of It.

Faith, family, friends.
