Because drinking and therapy can get expensive.

I need an outlet for my crazy life. I have three teenage step-sons and one daughter. My husband and I have full custody of his sons, so there is no break. Blogging makes me feel better and gives me something to look forward to at the end of the day.

I also went to school for English and have always wanted to be a writer. And an actual published writer once told me to write everyday and never stop, so I am hoping this qualifies.

Since September 2006

The kids, my husband and anything I find funny or amusing…which is usually the kids and my husband.

The Queen of Shake-Shake, Suburban Oblivion, Suburban Bliss, Real Life, Baby on Bored, My Nesting Place, Sweatpants Mom, The Bell Pages, Sense and Sensibilities.

I have about 35 blogs in my Google Reader; these are just my favorites.

Register your blog at as many blog sites as you can, like My Blog Log, Blog Dumps, Blogarama, The Good Blogs and Blog Catalog. You’ll be amazed on how much traffic you’ll get from these sites.

Also, come up with a niche and stick with it. Some of my favorite blogs are written by women that I feel I know because I can relate to their stories.

I tend to stay away from blogs that have family stories in one post, but then do a review in the next. If you want to do paid reviews, have a review site.

I absolutely love comments. It totally makes my day.

At first I did not respond to comments because I actually didn’t know how - I never said I was the brightest bulb - but now I respond to let my readers know I appreciate their input.

My readers - I say that like I have a huge following. There are probably five people that read me regularly.

I didn’t think so, but I just found out that my cousin’s wife found my blog. I sort of liked being able to say whatever I wanted. I know it sounds strange that I would tell strangers that I disconnected my step-son’s internet connection because he wouldn’t do something I asked, but I don’t want my family to know that.

I think I will watch what I write about from now on because of it. It may be only a matter of time before the whole family knows. And somehow I don’t think mom will appreciate the “I think I was adopted because I cannot possibly be related to these people” post.

I used to, but I got into an argument on a breastfeeding forum with a woman because I didn’t breastfeed in front of my three teenage step-sons. She actually told me that I was making breastfeeding something that was “disgusting” because I did it behind closed doors. And that they would grow up not supporting their wives in breastfeeding because I hid it from them.

I just find that there are too many arguments on forums. It’s like High School all over again.

I do belong to Maya’s Mom, which is like My Space for mommies.

Usually during my daughter’s naps or when she goes to sleep for the night.

I have a desktop computer and a laptop, so I blog everywhere…including my bathroom. It is amazing - no one will bother you when you’re in the bathroom. I hang out there a lot.

Too much. If I could actually make a living out of reading and writing blogs, I would do pretty well.

I do not get enough traffic right now to make money from Google Adsense. I think I’ve made 20 cents so far. Woo hoo! Hawaii here I come!

I really like My Blog Log. But I also use Technorati, The Mom Blogs, Blogroll and Blogher.

An ex boyfriend of mine blogged because he was writing a book and a lot of novelists blog.

I always thought it was silly. I didn’t understand why someone would find another person’s journal or diary interesting. But then I started reading some and I thought “wow I really want to find out about so and so’s son or if they finally sold their house”.

If you make anything interesting, people will read about it.

Kevin Alexander’s This Writer’s Life - funny stuff.

Not wanting to pay for therapy. Blogging is my new therapy.
