Interview with Colleen from “A Madison Mom”

I love writing something and finding out (through comments) that there are so many people out there that completely relate to what I write. They are going through the same things I am. They are enjoying life for the same reasons I am… and they have the same difficulties. As a stay at home mom you sometimes feel so isolated. Blogging helps me feel connected to other moms just like me.

I’ve been blogging since March of 2007.

I blog about whatever is happening in our lives. Some posts have been about our (extremely long) bathroom remodel, our vacations, everyday toddler happenings. I also post photos and link to sites that have weekly themes, etc.

Too many to name. I think my Google Reader is up to 73 subscriptions!

I haven’t really chatted through the comments section… but I have chatted through e-mail of the comments.

Yes. It’s a great way for my Mom to get a daily update on my daughter… and anything else that is going on. (She’s in Florida, we’re in New Jersey). My husband is always reading. My in-laws have commented on things I write. It’s a nice way to keep everyone updated just as often as they would like to be.

No.

I blog from home during Zoe’s naptime and/or after she goes to bed.

At least a couple hours.

Not really. I usually find new blogs to read through recommendations or comments from my favorite blogs. If someone I already like reading mentions someone… or has them on their blogroll… I figure they might be worth a read.

I don’t think I really realized it was “blogging”… but a couple friends had accounts on MySpace.

The very first blog I read was Suburban Bliss. I saw an article (or something) that talked about Melissa and “happy hour playdates” and the “momtini”. I was interested to see what she had to say. Since then I’m a total addict.

Zoe (my daughter).
