Interview with Julie Arduini from “The Surrendered Scribe”
“The Surrendered Scribe”

In late 2006 I committed to God to surrender all to Him, including my fears about writing publically. I’m not the best writer out there, but it’s something He’s called me to just the same. Fear held me back from writing for many years, and the blog was one way I thought, no more fear, I’m moving forward.

Since New Year’s Eve 2006!

Whatever I feel I’m supposed to write about, it truly varies. I’ve written about what God had to say to me during Spiderman 3, about how we are simply amazing, a lesson about not giving someone the dregs of your time, my confession that I have garage envy, and much more!

I’m really humbled and excited that two online friends from a mom’s group I belong to read my blog and felt inspired to start their own. I read theirs faithfully: Random Thoughts From a Newbie Blogger and The Less Than Perfect World. I also still dream of writing beyond a hobby, so I subscribe to a lot of author blogs like Girls Write Out, Forensic and Faith, etc…I’m still visiting blogs from the 5 Minutes for Mom blog party last March. I loved that! In August I agreed to be a contributing writer for the Christian Writers Guild Forum blog. You can find that at: http://christianwritersforum.com/Blog/

Don’t let fear stop you. My husband is a computer programmer and he’s done nothing to help me because I was able to figure it out on my own. Blogspot was an easy set up for me. Let it flow, don’t feel you have to write every day if you have nothing to say, but don’t not write if you feel inspired. And watch out, once you start, it’s addicting!

Yes, so far my readers are on the shy side so for the most part I get private e mails but its a goal of mine to make the blog a lot more interactive.

Yes, and I appreciate it!

I am part of Faithwriters.com and the Christian Writers Guild forum. I’m also a part of an MSN group called “ProudMoms”. We all had the same due date, August 2003 and have kept in touch daily through the years. We are spread out all over the US and Canada. I’ve had the honor of meeting several of these Proudmoms!

Mostly late at night after kids are in bed, at home while my husband watches sports or something.

I have on my calendar a reminder to read once a week and write once a week. I take probably a couple hours to read blogs, and I write maybe an hour a week.

Not yet, I don’t quite understand all that!

Probably at Mothers of Preschoolers. Everyone seemed to say, did you read my blog? Now I ask them!

Active faith, people who believe God in spite of what reality is dosing out. Nature scenes. At the bottom of my blog are amateur shots I took from NE Ohio and the NY Adirondack Mountains. I love pictures of mountains, hills and water.

Blogging has opened doors I never thought possible. I’ve been blessed to enjoy public speaking opportunities. Valentine’s Day 2008 author Kathy Vick offered my blog readers a free one time Life Coaching session because she was so encouraged by my blog work. Wow.
Through the Christian Writers Forum and blog I’ve enjoyed interviewing author, speaker and humorist Jenn Doucette. Her interview for moms was called “Step Away from the M&M’s.” I’ve facilitated live chats with authors James Scott Bell and Eva Everson. March 2008 will feature a live chat with “Let them Eat Cake” author Sandra Byrd.
None of this would have taken place without blogging.
And in turn, blogging would have never happened without surrendering!
