Interview with Tami from “A Beautiful Life”
“A Beautiful Life”

Blogging is more than just a way of self expression or reflection, and more than just communication with friends, a hobby or entertainment. I’ve found blogging is a way to experience life more fully, as it forces us each to notice the simple and profound elements of life. This is because we are looking at, thinking of, and responding to life through writing. Blogging motivates me to appreciate more of the details of life, and to see things in a new way.

I have been blogging since March 2007.

I blog about faith, beauty, organization, homemaking, love/marriage, children/parenting, teaching/homeschooling, life lessons, inspirations, etc. Basically, all the things that appeals to women. I like to share my good ideas and favorite things. I am constantly excited by new ideas, products, projects, recipes, etc. These details make life fun–like Martha’s ‘Good Things’ and Oprah’s ‘Favorite Things,’ I share my ‘Beautiful Things’ to correlate with the title of my blog, “A Beautiful Life”. I currently write a monthly column for a moms newsletter called “Tips, Tricks, & Shortcuts”.

My very favorite blog is from my friend, who constantly inspires me, http://www.dawnelle.blogspot.com, and her homeschooling blog, http://www.keepitauthentic.blogspot.com.

Keep trying to figure it all out, and take your time. Don’t think you have to blog more than a couple times a week, if you are busy. Just jot notes of topic ideas and inspiration in a spiral notebook that you keep handy throughout the week. Then use these ideas to keep you blogging when you have time to sit down at the computer. Visit other blogs to get more inspiration. It is fun to copy others’ topics and themes to write about.

I blog at home, at the computer armoire in the family room, and usually late at night after everyone is in bed.

I am inspired by the love and faithfulness of God, Scripture, beauty, organization, language, literature, art, music, fitness, food, nature, friends, and family.
