Interview with Jess Gordon from “Scrapbook Ideas”
“Scrapbook Ideas”

Since I began scrapbooking, I have spent so much time searching for information and trying out new ways to do things that I thought it would be great to share everything I’m learning with my scrapbooking friends. My Scrapbook Ideas blog has had the additional benefit of connecting me to others who love scrapbooking and can share more ideas with me!

I started my personal blog, Lovely Things, August 5th, 2006 and Scrapbook Ideas in February, 2007.

There are so many interesting scrapbooking ideas to blog about - inspiration, trends, tips & tricks, techniques - you name it! I try to have an even mix of articles about paper, digital and hybrid scrapbooking, so that there is something for everyone.

I love digital scrapbooking blogs like:
Shabby Miss Jenn,
Shabby Princess &
My Mosaic
I also love these other “crafty” blogs:
Inspireco &
HELLO My Name is Heather

Jump right in! You will find blogging to be a very rewarding experience, and if you’re a scrapbooker, you will find that the process of blogging really improves your journaling skills!
My favorite free blog services are wordpress and blogger, but there are plenty of other places to blog as well. Look around until you find something that appeals to your own personal style.
My only other advice is to use images as much as you can! Blogs with “eye candy” are more fun to read and look at :).

Yes, my comments get emailed to me, so it is an easy way to start a dialogue and meet more scrapbooking buddies!

My computer is in my “scrapping studio” (really, it’s just our rec room). I mostly blog when my baby is sleeping!

Creatively, I am inspired by almost everything! Seriously, I could be looking through the Target catalog and be inspired by an ad!
But on a more personal level, I am most inspired by my relationship with God, and by his two greatest gifts to me: My husband and son.

My personal blog: Lovely Things
