I decided to blog because writing is how I best “release” my creative energy; that, and because I appreciate capturing all those quirky, funny, frustrating, precious or tender moments that are often wiped clean from memory at the risk of never being revisited again. For me, it’s like scrapbooking, only with word pictures.

I’m a brand new baby (baby blogger, that is). I have been journaling for about six months now, but my blog has just been launched.

I love to blog about the “funnies” of our days together as a family. I challenge myself to see my glass as half full regardless of the moment at hand. That is the slant that I desire to bring to my blogging, as viewing life that way serves as a reminder that blessings are everywhere and not to be missed or taken for granted.

Definitely Lisa Whelchel.
I also enjoy Everyday Crochet. There are so many more that I have sampled but, as I am fresh on the blogging bandwagon, I’m still working on my own personal list of favorites.

My family and friends are definitely enjoying my blog. We recently moved six hours away (after lifelong residence near them), so it has been reeeeally hard for grandparents, aunts and uncles to be apart from us and especially from our children (and vice versa). They love to visit my blog and find that immediate and intimate connection with the “what’s happening” of our life apart from them.

Faith inspires me most. I also find inspiration in those faced with great burdens or challenges, my children and husband, the most simple aspects of nature (such as leaves blowing around in a mudpuddle), and in my own refinement at the hand of my Heavenly Father.
A “for instance” would be when my husband lost his job in Ohio and had to move to Chicago to keep his position in his company. We were already living on a single income when his full time job was eliminated. He was downgraded to part time in Chicago, so to compenstate, he worked 12-14 hour days there, lived with NINE roommates in a TWO bedroom apartment and commuted home to see us on every single day off. He never lost faith in God’s strengthening of him, nor in His provision for our family. Now THAT is inspiring to me.
