Sonoran Saga

I started blogging because I was reading a friend’s blog and had to have a Blogger account to leave a comment. So then I thought I could use my blog to inform my network of e-mail friends what was going on with my life. It has morphed into a running commentary on the daily adventures of balancing being a mom, writer, wife, and friend.

Almost a year

I LOVE it! It’s my favorite part of having a blog. People leave comments and I comment back. Usually, we’ll get off on a tanget and the comments become even funnier than the original post.

Surprisingly, a lot do. I’m always a little thrilled when someone tells me they read about one of my adventures on my blog.

American Christian Fiction Writers has a great forum for members. Dave Long, an editor at Bethany House, has a great discussion board for his blog at Faith*in*Fiction. And if you’ve ever wanted to get behind the scenes of a suspense writer, Brandilyn Collins has a great blog and discussion board over at Forensics and Faith. She’s also trying something new, having characters from her books blog. You can find them at the Java Joint.

I have a blogroll of over 40 blogs that I check each morning while I’m eating breakfast. It usually takes me about an hour. Sometimes I’ll check back through out the day or at night if I’ve left comments. I usually update my own blog several times a day and I answer comments daily. I do it whenever I can squeeze in the time.

It depends on the day. I always find something funny or unusual in life that I want to comment on. Often it’s one of my children. Or an adventure of my own making. I get myself into the strangest situations. It works well for a writer, I suppose. I never run out of material.
