I am very opinionated. Until I began blogging, my family was on the receiving end of my pontificating. They are happy I’m blogging.

Since January 2006.

I blog about being a mom. The fun stuff, the frustrating stuff. If there’s a national or international story that I think is relevant, I’ll link to it and provide commentary.

Oh, my gosh, there are so many. Let’s see… Michelle Malking, Sister Toldjah, The Anchoress, Mary Katharine Ham’s Blog, , Betsy’s Page”>, La Shawn Barber, Dooce, A Mom and Her Blog, and I just discovered Scribbit. There are so many more that I visit every day, I just couldn’t list them all.
I read a lot of male bloggers, too, but since this is 5 Minutes for Mom, I thought I’d stick to just the women. ![]()

Post every day. Link to other blogs. Write interesting stuff. Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb and write something that might be a little controversial. Be honest. Join blogrolls like this one.

Yes. I also have struck up a couple of friendships via email.

Sometimes. My husband reads everyday. My mother-in-law reads periodically. Some friends do as well.

Not that I can think of. Actually, I do go Harry Potter forums sometimes. I’m a huge Harry Potter fan.

At home in my living room.

It’s hard to measure. I blog throughout the day, and in between my mommy responsibilities.

I use Google and Ask a lot.

From my husband. He scoured the political blogs in the run up to the 2004 presidential election. Before that, I had no idea what they were.

A lot of things. My principles and beliefs. My kids. People who take stands.

Yes. The first blog I started is called Kim Priestap, which was a political/current events blog. I know, the name isn’t funny or clever. Unfortunately, I’m not very good at funny and clever. So I went with obvious.
After blogging for an entire month and a half, I was asked to join Wizbang, a well-known blog in the political blogospere. I was thrilled. I blog there still and I love it.
Even though I love blogging at Wizbang, there was still a part of me that wanted to write about being a mom because it is who I am. So I started Embracing Momminess.
