I began my blog out of sheer curiosity, after reading and getting hooked on other really good blogs. However, I soon realized that it could be a platform for me to discuss how my faith could and should impact my family, marriage, and home. My blog has developed into a place to help and encourage women in their efforts to be their best in all the roles God’s given them.

I began my blog in the summer of 2011.

As a blogging newbie myself, I have LOTS of advice in this category, all from mistakes I made myself.
1. Pace yourself! This is a very addictive hobby, and I regularly found myself at the computer for hours on end, finessing my blog posts or adding cool techie features. Plan how long you can devote to it each day and set a timer.
2. Keep your focus. Don’t become distracted by blog statistics, monetizing, etc. That should come later, after you’ve built up your blog.
3. Brand yourself. Choose a name that is easily remembered, short, relevant to your blog’s theme, and begins with a letter in the first half of the alphabet if possible. Secure that name in Facebook and as an email address.

I actually try to visit my visitors’ websites and comment on their posts, since not everyone subscribes to the comment section. I do feel it is important to build relationships with my visitors, though, and I look forward to contacting them!
