To bring a true sense of community and personal unity to mothers in my area. Fredericksburg, because of its proximity to our nation’s capital and several large military bases, is an extremely transient area, meaning families are constantly moving to and from. Blogging allows me to assist mothers with situations I’ve already been through and can, therefore, help provide guidance with regard to family relocation.
Before my husband received orders to relocate further south, I searched the internet for some type of online resource to help me become more familiar with our new hometown. To my dismay, I quickly discovered how little information was available. In my opinion, having a website function as a relevant and comprehensive online resource is vital for its viewers quickly find the answers they need. My goal with Moms of Fredericksburg was to create a user friendly, extremely concise, and functional website mothers could use to search for information about our city. The blog feature of website allows me to stay connected with our visitors. Our brand is transparent in that other mothers will know that those behind the website walk in their same shoes each and every day.

Most days, it’s typically something I come across during the course of my day as a mother that motivates me to then share that particular experience with my readers. My writing topics range from something noteworthy happening in the Fredericksburg area that may, or may not, in some way affect family life, to something more specific that would have an influence upon us directly as a mother. My writing is MY voice, and I think that’s the beauty of blogging. The content consists of my genuine thoughts and feelings and so, doesn’t require an editorial team to spend hours tailoring it for specific audiences. My “customers” are moms just like me, and THEY are my focus.

Do it every day, keep it varied and interesting, and to the point. Also, always stay FOCUSED and TRUE to your purpose and mission. NEVER compare yourself to other bloggers and always use your own experiences as inspiration.

Sometimes.

Absolutely!

With three children, and a household to run, I blog whenever I get a free second. I write the blog in my home office.

Less than 2 hours per day.

No. I just google subjects that are of interest to me and typically browse the first 5 listings.

I don’t recall.
