Interview with Ro Little from “The Mommy MindSpa”
“The Mommy MindSpa”

I’m a SAHM, so I guess I needed something for me … Something to keep my mind going, and give me something to focus on.
Also, it’s convenient. I can blog at night after the kids are sleeping, and also throughout the day while they’re running through the house!

I’ve been blogging for about 3 years. But my current blog has only been going now for about a month and a half.

I have fun with my blog! I write about a few things … first of which is my Daily Mom-ME Moment. Each day I post about something fun moms can do to have a ME Moment. Somedays my suggestions are fun … somedays they make moms feel good … somedays they’re just plain silly! Every day there is a new suggestion, so moms keep coming back! It’s lot of fun.
I’m also on a weight loss program, and I post each week for my weigh-in Wednesday. That’s been really helpful for me to help keep me on track!

I am constantly hopping and reading other blogs. My favorite blogs are other mom blogs. I love reading about craft projects that moms do … or a yummy recipe they make … or a fun activity with their kids. I also enjoy reading when moms vent about frustrations they experience. Some moms have such humor when they blog! I love it!!

Absolutely! This is my 3rd blog that I’ve started … and it’s the only one that’s successful. Yup … I failed twice, but I learned so much each time.
The most important lesson that I learned is that when I’m typing something into my computer to appear on my blog, it is read by real people … and I have to speak to them as such.
What do I mean by that? My first 2 blogs ended up being filled with affiliate links and pushy sales pitches. I hate sales people, but I felt it was OK to do that over the computer. WRONG!
I learned that it’s much better to blog for fun! It’s not about the money. When you have fun, and you enjoy what you’re writing about, the money will come. But first it has to be fun … for both the writer AND the reader. The reader has to feel warm and welcome into your blog … and not feel like they’re entering a sales store. Then the money comes second.

Definitely! I guess this also goes back to the previous question … about what I’ve learned and my advice … this blogging business is all about making connections. At first I really didn’t get that. I didn’t understand how from my computer I’m supposed to make connections with other moms. But it’s truly amazing! Through Twitter, online mom communities, and my followers, I’ve made amazing new friends! I look forward to emailing, tweeting, messaging, and everything else with them!

LOL!! My son does!! Everyday!

Yes. I hang out on many mom communities, which has been instrumental to the growth of my blog. I hang out at:

I blog on my laptop at my kitchen table. When? Whenever I have a quiet moment! Pretty much all day and all night … minus meal times and kids bed times!

I spend about an hour a day actually writing my daily blog post. Then I spend about another hour promoting my post throughout my different communities. Then I spend any number of hours hopping around and reading other’s blogs. Each day is different for that – somedays it’s 2 hours of reading time, somedays it’s 5 hours!

No

When I had my son 9 years ago, I started looking for a way to work from home. First I started building websites, and then I switched to blogging. I’ve basically immersed myself in learning internet marketing since I decided to work from home.

Sorry! I can’t remember that!

My kids inspire me to be the best mom I can. And other successful blogger inspire me to keep building my blog! You guys are amazing examples of successful ladies, and you certainly inspire me!

Oh my goodness! Over the past 9 years I’ve built OODLES of websites! But really the only one that I’m focusing on right now is the Mommy MindSpa.

I’ve really only been serious and 100% committed to blogging (both writing my own and hopping around / reading others) since I started my current blog, about 1 1/2 months ago. And I was just joking with my hubby the other day because I am know so much more knowledgeable on what’s happening in the world!
I never used to watch the news or read the paper. I never really paid any attention to current events. And now, thanks especially to Twitter, I know everything that is going on!
How else has blogging impacted my life … well … it’s given me an amazing new excitement! I stay up late at night and I wake up early in the morning. I LOVE hanging out on my computer and chatting with other moms. I’m making friends … and it’s so wonderful! I’m not just a mom anymore. I’m a ME … and that’s what my whole blog is about. Amazing! It’s actually working!
