Interview with “Owlhaven”
“Owlhaven”

I’ve been blogging since January. I actually began by applying for and getting a job at adoptionblogs.com. As I was waiting for that blog to start, I go thinking about all the things I had to say, and realized, thanks to my kids, that I probably had enough ‘material’ for two blogs.

I blog about silly things my kids do, activities we’ve done lately, my less-than-organized house, my garden, adoption, and affordable meals my big crew has enjoyed. Recently I’ve been blogging “The 30 Days Of Nothing”– my attempt to reduce my consumerism for a month.

I love a wide range of blogs–blogs that show me a part of the world I might not otherwise see. I read blogs by moms from Africa and Spain and Korea and New Zealand among other places. I have lots of links on my blog, and the truth is, I read even more than that.

Concentrate on small detailed stories that share a slice of you, not a laundry list of everything you did all day.

Yes, and I also often comment back via email because it is quick and easy.

Yes, my sisters and my mom and some of my best friends all read.

Some early in the morning, some during the baby’s nap, but mostly after the kids have gone to bed in the evening.

I read via Bloglines, usually, which lets me aread a lot of blogs quickly. I blog every day– I’m not sure exactly how much time I spend, but since I keep up two blogs, it is a fair bit.

Often I’ll check technorati and click on someone who mentioned me in their blog.

I have had a personal webpagefor years, where I wrote about traveling to adopt my children. Then someof my adoptive-mom friends began blogging, and I read their blogs.

The first blog I fell in love with was ‘Notes from the Trenches’ then known as ‘Big Yellow House’.

A sense of humor, an interesting outlook on life, faith in difficutl times, and people who desire to make a difference in the world for others.

yes, I blog at Larger Families and at adoptionblogs.com
