Rub Some Dirt On It

I blog to keep my brain from getting rusty, to document the lives of my family and the growth of my beautiful children, to challenge myself photographically, and to inspire me to be a better mom.

Fall 2008, when I had just moved from San Diego to rural Vermont and was expecting my first child

Life in Vermont, parenting. I use this blog to hold me accountable–am I doing enough with my kids? Am I being creative? Are we thinking outside the box? Are we being intellectually challenging, even at this age? Am I the best mom I can be? I also include photography challenges, and feature crafts and book recommendations.

Kelle Hampton’s “Enjoying the Small Things,” “Be Different, Act Normal,” “Simplicity–my life in mostly photographs,” “The Anderson Family Crew,” and many personal blogs about family and photography that I love

Decide what you’re blog is about and don’t deviate. Don’t get distracted by what other people do; just be the best you that you can be.

Absolutely! I try to reply to every comment, and go visit each commentor’s website as often as I can! It is so rewarding to have a dialogue back and forth with my readers, and they are so inspiring!

All of them, I hope! They say they do!

My family, photography, poetry, writing, finding joy in small things and watching people evolve and overcome obstacles. Humanity.

NO

I am so validated by my blog and by the act of writing. I’ve always written, just not for public consumption. I am thrilled to have enough self-confidence to share my thoughts and photography with the blogging world. I am challenged by others’ amazing sites and emulate their passion and talent. I hope to be nearly as impactful as others have been on me!
