Interview with Celina from “Juju Be Baby”

I blog about myself and my baby girl. I talk about what sucks and what doesn’t about being the mother of a baby. The sore nipples, the unfounded anxiety, our first trip to the emergency room after she was bitten be a rat in a pet store (I considered going back to the store to buy the rat just so I could kill it, but didn’t.). I also talk about our travels: changing diapers in a tent, volunteering in Costa Rica with an 18 month old. I wax philosophic about our consumerist lifestyle and my desire to be a crunchy earth loving vegan goddess while wolfing down a meat lovers pizza in front of teletubbies.

About half of my readership consists of people I know in real life. It keeps me relatively honest and very PG-13. I try not to overshare about the kinds of things I would be embarrassed to talk about in front of my mom.

I was very active on ivillage while trying to conceive and pregnant. The women there were really wonderful and supportive during those months of transition. Some of my virtual ivillage friends have turned into “real” friends now that we have young children born around the same time.
