Interview with Shash from “Shasher’s Life”
“Shasher’s Life”

I like to talk! I also like to keep my family who are 5,000 klms (3,000 miles) away up to date on how fast my kids are growing!

January 2006 after finding my baby sister’s “secret” blog! They don’t call me “the Google Queen” for nothing!

My kids, my life, my church, my relationship with God, the joys of working from home, the challenges I face, being married to the Pastor, recipes, my favourite things to do – to visit – to buy.

This list has changed in the last couple of years, as my interests change and as many of the ones I was addicted to stopped blogging! Why they would do that is beyond me!
Daily I check out:
Tara’s View of the World and not just because she’s also a Pastor’s Wife who I met on our secret PW Forum.
Mom’s Musings is written by that lady in church I was talking about, the 3 person I knew in real, offline life that had a blog before me.
I met Tanya – “Living in 3 D” – through her Dad who told me she blogged. My DH had her dad as a Sunday School teacher when he was a little boy, our families have been connected ever since. Tanya’s also a Pastor’s Wife and lives in a town about 2 hours north of me, we’ve never met in person but through her blog I feel like we’d be great friends!
and a new blog I found during the Ultimate Blog Party 2010, was Sippycups and Fingerprints. She’s an amazing photographer and a real Mom.
My blogroll is massive – how do I chose just a few??!

Write for yourself. It’s your journal. Don’t be discouraged if no one comments or if it seems like no one is listening. A good blogger is one who gets joy out of writing and not out of knowing who’s reading.

Yes I do. I think it’s important. When people call me up in person, they want me to answer them…

Yes and sometimes that can be an issue… especially when I want to VENT!
I am limited on what I write, I’ve learned that the hard way. (People in my life often expect a certain… level of excellence that sometimes I can’t live up to.) I just returned to my hometown for a 20 year high school reunion and different people were telling me that they like reading my blogs. I had no idea they were reading! Cool and scary all at the same time.

Yes, I’m part of a few. I am a regular (and have done so since 2007) on a forum for Pastor’s Wives. It was my first forum I joined. It’s a support group of sorts – I can’t give you the link, we like our secrecy!
My most recent one I just joined is a forum for Canadian Moms.

Shash on Care2, a bit of an activist/environmental/health & well-being community

I try to blog every week, a couple times a week is my goal. I have been successful in spurts… I blog from home mostly but I have been known to hammer out a few at my local Starbucks! Thank God for WiFi!! My next feat is to blog from my phone!

oh wow! A couple hours a day at least! Some days I get lost in cyberspace… and come ‘back to earth’ when the kids walk thru the door!! I love connecting with people and catching up on what they’re doing. Social butterfly isn’t a nickname… it’s a lifestyle.

Every time I try Technorati, it seems to be down so I usually check out those who comment on my blog and then those who comment on their blog posts. I also use my blogrolls and lately I started using Twitter a lot!

Back in 2005 I started really hearing it over and over again. My sister told me about a blog that a friend of ours was writing. Then a lady at church started blogging and was always talking about it.

my kids, family, nature (I love photography), my experiences in life, seeing others succeed is a big one!

I travel a lot! So I decided to start a travel blog, with a place to write about my experiences, tips for when traveling with children, great cheap vacations and the places I dream to go to.

I have learned not to complain – others have had it a lot tougher than I! But we need each other – I love community and I’ve also learned that we aren’t meant to do this thing called life – alone. Reaching out and learning about new cultures, languages, religions, etc is awesome! It makes this world much smaller and much easier to live in.
