Interview with Rose fr. FineCraftGuild.com from “Fine Craft Guild”

To have fun, share and show ‘how to’:
We want to show is:
** that ‘style’ has nothing to do with ‘money’,
** that ‘environmentally sound’ does not mean ‘nerdy’ but rather ‘cool’.
** that ‘functional’ can also be ‘beautiful’ and
** that ‘homemade’ is ‘do-able within a limited amount of time’.

We blog about projects that would interest a typical North American mom and daughter.

Start with writing from the heart and the rest will follow. The more true you are to who you are on the inside, with all your beliefs shown (such as: ‘I feel we must protect the environment now’.) the more your blog will stand out from the crowd.

I craft, read and write for FineCraftGuild every day, and there are new projects posted most days of the week, but usually I take the weekend off.

One day I sat around looking at our home and realized the number of craft projects I had around me, that were reusing materials and were beautiful.
At that time, we lived in West Vancouver, a wealthy neighborhood where there was just so incredible wastage of resources to create beauty, that I put 2 and 2 together and decided: ‘OK. It’s time to teach & share what I do’.
At that time, my sister in law,a 5star pastry chef, was in love with several baking blogs and I saw how inspired she was through the creations of others, through their online howto’s and pictures.
Then, it all fell in to place, and FineCraftGuild was born.

What inspires me is really good & unique design & ideas, that touches people’s hearts, but leaves Mother Earth untouched. I love fine craft/art that is authentic and that tells a story.
