I really enjoy having an “online” phot album that my friends and family can enjoy. Our lives are all so busy, it is truly hard to keep up to date on how we are doing, how our children are growing and a blog is the PERFECT opportunity to do this.
In addition, the internet allows people outside of my circle of friends and family to offer advice and support and this is truly a big part of enriching my life. I don’t proclaim to know everything and I can only become a better mother and friend if I allow myself to be open to criticism as well as kudos.

I started blogging in July 2009.

I blog about what has happened in our life at home and at work. The writing is a form of therapy, especially when it comes to pressing issues that we as parents, or as a spouse, deal with.

I really enjoy The Pregnant Bitch, Semi-Desperate Housewife and Playgroups are No Place for Children. Sometimes in their writings, I feel like I am sitting in their kitchen and hearing the story first hand over coffee.

There are millions of blogs out there. Make sure you are writing a blog for you and not so much for an audience. Be honest and be fair, and remember that words hurt, so be careful when writing about friends and family who are unable to defend themselves.

Absolutely! My talking through the comments is my invitation for them to join my family.

Yes, a majority do. I am the last of eight children and we are all spread out. The blog is a way for my family to keep connected and see my family grow without the high cost of plane fares!

I blog from home any day of the week that I am able. I try to blog at least once a week.

I check in on favorite blogs once a day after I finish checking in on my own blog.

I first heard about blogging when I was pregnant with my daughter in 2007. As a new mother to be, I was looking to see if anyone out there felt as I did with an impending birth. The blogs helped take the fear out of becoming a mother because my fears and thoughts were the same as everyone else.

The Pregnant Bitch

Creative writing that helps you develop a mental picture as you read. I like being able to read and almost seeing, tasting and smelling the topic at hand.

No.

Blogging has helped me sleep at night. I can write about anything and get it out of my head and onto “paper”. It has also stimulated creativity that I had tamped down because I was just “too busy” with life. I now want to start trying to figure out ways that myself and other moms can develop a trade system. Whether it be that I am looking for toddler clothes and have a jogging stroller to trade, or sharing coupons for items that we use everyday (diapers, soup, cereal etc)
