All in a Day's Thought

I’ve found it to be a wonderful way to network and connect with other writers and women growing in their faith. Blogging provides a great venue for sifting through my thoughts and is an excellent outlet for my creative juices.

I started about four months ago, in February, 2009.

I tend to gravitate towards writing topics, faith, and community. I touch on family issues, but don’t delve into too much about my family on my blog.

Building His Body by Anne L.B gives me spiritual wisdom every morning. Jody Hedlund has a great blog for writers called, On the Path. And Jill Kemerer always finds succinct ways to write about the journey to publication. Another blog I love for its pure honesty is Katie’s blog called Brain Throw Up.

Get out there. Make note of how other bloggers are designing their blogs. Experiment. And don’t be afraid to make a comment if it encourages someone in some way. You never know how much influence you might have on their day.

Also, know what you are trying to accomplish with your blog. Have a focus (even if it is like mine…to have my thoughts move.)

Absolutely. I’ve found this to be a great way to connect and strengthen current connections. I try to respond to comments every day.

It was like pulling teeth trying to get some of my family members to follow my blog. Not all of my family members follow my blog, but those that do tend to make uplifting or funny comments about what I write. (Same goes for my offline friends.)

The morning is my best time to blog. Our computer is in our playroom, so I do most of my blogging with Dragon Tales or Goldfish requests as my accompaniment.

I spend anywhere from an hour or two per day writing and reading blogs.

A friend of mine from college got me curious about blogging.

Nature, Creative thinkers, Encouraging Women, Resilience, Rich Stories, Water, Running, Writing, Deep conversations, Laughter, Music, Worship, Leading…this list could take all day!

My one goal when I began blogging was to grow as an individual (to move) and to grow closer to God. I’ve learned so much about the writing industry, about connecting with other moms and writers “in this thing”, and about how others like to express themselves. I’m encouraged and challenged daily by what I read and by blogs I write.
