Type A Mommy

I have always loved to write, so blogging seemed very natural to me. When I became a stay-at-home mom, I felt a little unaccomplished. I was used to climbing the corporate ladder, and I found blogging was the perfect way for me to do a little something that I could be proud of on my own. I love sharing what’s going on at my house, and I love the support that other bloggers give me as well.

I started blogging in January of 2009, so I’ve just celebrated my six month blogoversery!

I blog about everything motherhood entails, from dealing with my now-toddler son to meal planning and cooking, as well as my marriage.

Wow, there’s oh so many…here’s a few: Pioneer Woman Cooks, Smitten Kitchen, How to Survive Life in the Suburbs, A Psych Mommy, 5 Minutes for Books, and The Secret is in the Sauce.

Take some time to carve out your niche and find your blogging persona. It may take a few tries to find the right one.

I love to chat with my visitors through comments. Comments make me smile.

Yes.

Not really, actually.

I blog usually on my couch, on my laptop, but at all different times. I write a lot in the morning, before my family gets up because I have somehow morphed into an early bird.

I spend at least an hour a day working on either writing my blog or catching up and supporting other blogs. I try really hard to work on blogging daily.

Honestly, I haven’t used Technorati much yet. I’m still learning about all the different facets of blogging. Mostly, I find new blogs by seeing what bloggers I enjoy are reading.

I think I first heard about blogging when I read “The Washingtonienne,” about a disgraced Capitol Hill assistant who wrote a raunchy blog and was fired from her job.

The first blog I ever read was Dooce.

My son inspires me. Daily. Sometimes it’s to run into the other room because he’s having a fit and I don’t know how to handle it in the moment, or sometimes it’s because he’s come over to hug me for no apparent reason.

Nope – one’s plenty for me to keep up with!!

Blogging has really kind of given me the creative outlet I’ve been searching for. I have always thoroughly enjoyed writing, and I’ve had a hard time over the years trying to channel that into something productive. Blogging so far seems to be the perfect fit. I’ve also been so inspired by other blogs that I read, and encouraged. At first, I felt disappointed that it took so long for my blog to start to attract followers, but once I let go of that worry, and just wrote my blog for me and my two followers, the rest kind of fell into place. I’m quickly approaching my 50th follower, which feels awesome.
