Interview with Amanda Joyce from “So Many Joys”
“So Many Joys”

I blog in lieu of keeping a journal. I’ve always loved the *idea* of keeping a journal, I just never had the discipline to do it. There is something egocentrically satisifying about sharing my thoughts beyond myself that appeals to me, so blogging has become my method of journaling.

I’ve been blogging for about two years. I started my first blog when I was pregnant and used it to announce my pregnancy to friends and keep friends and family updated throughout the pregnancy.

Mommy stuff — what my daughter is doing, my thoughts on motherhood, my parenting philosophies.

My main readers are my family and off-line friends.

I blog at my desk in our office in front of a desktop computer with a pillow and nursing toddler in my lap. I blog while I nurse my daughter down for naps and bedtime. It’s a great way to pass the time!

I first heard of blogging a few years ago when I was teaching middle school English. I incorporated blogs into a unit I taught, and the kids loved it!

I keep a photo blog of my daugther, Sweet Caroline.
