Interview with Holly from “2 Kids and Tired Book Reviews”

I’m just a tired mom who loves to read. I was always the child who could be found in the corner or up the tree, reading a book. I majored in English in college, because I loved reading and writing. Then, for many years I worked outside of my home in a professional capacity and my free time was limited. I didn’t read much. I became a stay at home mom several years ago, and was able to indulge my love of reading. I decided it would be fun to keep track of the books I read and by doing that, I could review them too.

I started blogging in the fall of 2007. I did my regular blog first, and then started the book blog later. I also have a cooking blog where I share recipes and cooking tips.

I post reviews of the books I read. I love participating in reading challenges and things like “What’s on your nightstand.”

Check my blogroll!

Don’t feel obligated. If someone new stops by your blog and comments, visit their blog. Comment if you can. If you truly like it or like their reviews, go back. If you don’t connect or like the reviews, don’t go back. It’s as simple as that. You will find other reviewers you like and connect with. You won’t, however, connect with every book blogger you meet, and that’s ok too.

Not so much. If someone has their email address as part of their profile, and I urge everyone to do that, I will sometimes reply back, and have conversations that way. I often forget to check back on other blogs for people who’ve commented on my comment or authors who’ve replied. For bloggers who do chat that way, I will often subscribe to that particular feed if I think it will be interesting to follow.

A few. I’ve also met some blogging friends in real life and that’s been fun.

Sitting at the desk in my kitchen. Whenever I get a chance. Mostly while my kids are at school.

Way too much to admit.

A friend of mine had one.

I’ve met some terrific people. As far as book blogging goes, I’ve discovered Goodreads and some great bloggers and because of that, I’ve found a ton of new books and authors to read. Authors and books I probably wouldn’t have read unless I’d seen the reviews.
