Interview with “Black Belt Mama”

“Black Belt Mama”

I blog about a variety of different things.  At least once a week, I post about my karate classes.  I also post about my children, but not to the extent that other Mom’s do.  I’m more self-absorbed, I guess.  My rants under the category of "things that really get my gi in a bunch" (a "gi" is a traditional karate uniform) are very popular, especially my posts entitled "Why Men Don’t Have Home Parties" and "The Evolution of Instant Messaging" which issues a stark warning for any women out there about to embark on a date, sight unseen.  Scary.

I don’t reply to all of my comments, and if I do I usually do so through email. I used to reply to all of my commenter’s and then I thought it was kind of silly to email them a two word response if that was all I had to say. So, if I have something to contribute, I communicate back and I consider a great many of my regular commenter’s my very good blogging friends.

I’d say about half of my offline friends read my blog. In fact, some of them joke that the only way they know what’s going on with me sometimes is to read my blog. As far as family goes, I don’t think they really “get” it. Everyone in my Mom’s office where she works reads my blog, and they usually inform her as to what I’m writing about. My in-law’s however, DO read my blog and regularly. I have to be VERY, VERY careful. It’s a good thing we get along really well.

I spend entirely too much time reading blogs. I’ve always been a nightowl and it was usually to watch Conan O’Brien. Now, I spend my time writing into the wee hours of the morning and reading up a storm.

It was Julie’s “A Little Pregnant”. I had taken a pregnancy test and you had to sort of squint to be able to tell if the line changed. I looked up on google, “a little pregnant” and that was the beginning of my blog reading.
