Teen Lit Review

Angi and I both are aspiring writers and are avid readers who want to serve God with the gifts He has given us. He gave us the inspiration to start Teen Lit Review when we both were interested in finding a good Christian review site for teen books. When we were unable to find a site that went into detail about the contents of the books, we decided to start our own. As parents, we hope to instill the love of reading in our own children. But, we also want them to make good desicions in general. We desire to help them do so by choosing books for them with good, moral values. We hope other parents will be able to use our reviews in the same way.

Angi and I both have personal blogs. Hers is Thoughts of a Wannabe and mine is Scamp’s Place. We each have been blogging about two years but didn’t start working on Teen Lit Review until October 2007. We opened the site to the public the following January.

Most of our posts are book reviews on pre-teen, teen, and young adult books of all genres. We have several regular reviewers who post as well as a few guest reviewers. About once a month, we also post book giveaways.

We alre always interested in receiving more reviews as well. If you have a passion for books and writing and want to join our team, please contact me. Please also see our review guidelines here.

We love comments even if the commentors don’t agree with our book recommendations. We love our readers and hope to be an encouragment to them as they so often are to us.

We are inspired by not only God’s love for us but also His love for our children. We take our responsibility as Christian parents seriously and hope to encourage our children to live Christ-centered lives.

Angi and I both have a heart for teens and are grateful for the opportunity to minister to them as well as their parents by encouraging them to stand strong in their Christian walk and to make value-based decisions even with the choices of books they read.

Speaking only for myself, I have been impacted greatly by our online book review ministry. God has challenged me through the reviews I’ve written, the reviews I’ve read, and the comments of our readers to stand firm in my Christian beliefs. The things we allow our children to read and watch can have a huge impact on them for many years. I’m living proof of this. Our children are watching us even if we may not realize it. I hope to help my daughter make sound deicions as well as set a good example for her through the work I do with Teen Lit Review and above all else, I hope God is glorified with this ministry.
