Interview with Mommy Wizdom from “MommyWizdom”
“MommyWizdom”

I started blogging in November 2007, shortly after my mother passed away.
I have always been a journal writer but I felt that I needed something that would make me more accountable. Blogging has really been therapeutic for me.

Blog because you enjoy it and have fun with it!

I do have several offline friends who read my blog. It’s funny because when I first started blogging, I sent out my blog address to everyone, but as I got into it I realized that I didn’t necessarily want my “family and friends” to read my blog, but it was ok for strangers to read it. Do you feel that way about your blog?!

My inspirations are numerous. My kids are a huge source of my inspiration. I have also taken to the camera. I’ve always been a picture taker but now I take the camera everywhere I go, even to work. You never know when you’re going to see something worth photographing.
I guess you could say, life is also my inspiration.

I spend at lot of time at MommyWizdom but recently, I started a new blog called
Boggle Me Thursday. I am a huge Boggle buff (to the point that I will play alone), so I thought playing on my blog would be fun. Come check it out!

When I first heard about blogging (about four or five years ago) I thought it was the stupidest thing in the world. Why would you want to post your thoughts, daily events, or experiences online? And who would want to read about them?!
Fast forward to today. I was inspired by http://www.Izzymom.com. I found her blog through a Parents (magazine) Podcast. She had been selected as the Parents blogger of the month. It wasn’t long after I started reading her blog that I became hooked.
More fast forwarding. Blogging has absolutely changed my life. I have connected with so many wonderful people. I love reading about various stories, poems, and anecdotes. Whether they know it or not, I am influenced by many bloggers, daily. I learn new things, I laugh and cry. I emphatically nod my head in agreement more than I ever imagined I could.
I blog for myself and for others. I search for information to share with others that I find interesting. I share stories that move me, shake me, and keep me still; in hopes that my words will touch others in some way. I love the blogging network. It’s like meeting people from all over the country (if not world) without leaving my own home. How much better could it get than that?
