Along with my book, I created a website so people could order it online. I realized that sharing my experiences and expretise could not only get the word out about my book but also help others out there like me with tips and ideas for their family, while entertaining them. I have met many people who ask me about my experiences as a writer/publisher and as a parent of a child who is an excellent student and pianist. Both adults and kids are very interested in learning more about Rachel’s experience writing the musical score for the book with original songs.

Anything and everything that relates to being a parent, writer, publisher pet lover and traveler. I give a lot of tips on getting kids more interested in books, improving their writing skills and participating in creative activites. I share a lot of personal photos and family events. I am digging up old photos of the fabulous birthday parties I used to have for my daughter and sharing tips about how I put them all together. As I develop my publishing business, I will write more about my experience doing it all myself - what works and what does not work. I have talked some about my Travel Writing Contest for kids. I am an avid exerciser, and maybe I should start mentioning that on occasion as well.

Just get started! Don’t copy off anyone else’s style or blog. Be original, and forget the formalities and cliches. No one will will read your blog at first for quite a while likely (because they won’t know it is there), but keep blogging away, and it will catch on. You have to be dedicated, because it takes a lot of time. And don’t worry so much about content. Every day life situations offer plenty of journaling opportunities. Once you start writing, your creativity will improve, and life experiences will become interesting stories.

Yes, I love to hear from people via comments, email and phone. I want to know what they think of the book/CD and the blog. I HATE SMAM comments! They are very inappropriate, annoying and are never published. Who are these rude people that have nothing better to do?

Yes, some do. But I don’t talk about it all that much with family and friends because I don’t want to come across as pushy!

I love to read a variety of parenting forums. It’s nice to see what other parents’ concerns, likes and dislikes are.

I sometimes do it first thing in the morning, turning on the lap top in bed. It all depends on what my day is like. Other times I sit in my home office on the big screen in the afternoon or after dinner and start writing away. I get new ideas quite often, and sometimes just feel that I have to get it down immediately before I lose them!

I spend a lot more time writing than reading these days. It is very time consuming to blog and edit and run a publishing business. It takes a while to upload photos and get them looking right as well.

I have googled blog sites many times and have used a variety of blog lists. Among them blogcatalog.com, topsites.blogflux.com, topblogarea.com.

My teenage daughter showed me her favorite photography blog a few years back, and I was hooked.

It was a self-serving blog written by a distant, conceited family member, full of cliches and misuse of grammar! I regret to say it was horrifying, yet very entertaining.

Everything I experience reads in my mind like a short story. I am a person who pays a lot of attention to what is going on around me, and I can remember everything. I try to find some humor in what would otherwise be boring or even pretty horrible. My 15 year old daughter, husband of 20 years and my loyal poodle inspire me. I love children of all ages and they can offer us the purest form of honesty and inspiration anywhere. I am a research junkie and am curious about so many things. I need to know how things work, why things are, and I love to know facts about a huge variety of subjects.

Blogging has developed my creativity. It makes me more grateful for my life. When you write it down and then read it and look back at older entries, you say to yourself, “Wow. I have an interesting, fulfilling life.”
