The Little Travelers- travel notes

I blog out of response to parents who have taken my classes or whose children have taken my classes as well as those who purchase our travel dvds. I was asked the same kinds of questions so many times I decided to start up a permanent documentation so it could be referred back to by many.

I usually blog about travel and parenting from a holistic perspective. Holistic from my point of view being culturally diverse, earth friendly, emphasis on connection of all things and balances mental, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of the entire family.

Yes, i love it. There are many seasonal activities listed on my blog and I particularly love it when someone from the southern hemisphere writes a comment about an idea they found and are now doing- but it is from the opposite season. It is such an excellent reminder of another perspective. While we’re boiling hot and preparing for midsummer night, they’re out playing in the snow and making ice lanterns.
And of course I love to hear from fellow family travelers!

When we’re home I blog at night after the kids are asleep. When we’re on trips, I blog at night after the kids are asleep- but we’re usually all sleeping in the same room- so it’s a bit trickier. In Japan I would go into the bathroom and sit on the toilet so I could turn on the light.

So many things! I love all things travel related, food related, love gardening, raising children, books, friends…

I always process things differently once writing about them. If I’ve been out exploring a new country during the day it is not really until I write about it at night that I become conscious of the ideas that have formed while I was having the experience. I’m often a bit surprised by what I’ve written and often say, “wow, I didn’t know I thought that!” It’s an interesting process.
