Interview with Cindi Matthews from “Moomettesgram’s Musings”

I initially started to blog to promote my ecommerce Boutique business, Moomette’s Magnificents Olde Towne Shoppes, where I offer Hand-Crafted Boutique Baby items, Home Decor, Jewelry, as well as Vintage Collectibles; and my eBay Store, Moomette’s Magnificents.
I’ve since grown to enjoy all aspects of blogging, and the many friends I’ve made all over the globe. This has encourged me to start a second “fun” blog, Moomette’s Mama Mentor Blog.

I started blogging in November, 2007. Since that time, I’ve won many blogging awards.

I try to cover topics and tips that encourage and support both new Moms and Baby Boomer to enter the world of e-commerce as a means of providing either a primary or supplemental source of income.
I’m trying to chronicle my experiences, and also encourage women to either start or complete their degrees through various online education programs. One is never too old to either start or finish! If it takes 5 years ~ you’ll still be 5 years older in that period of time ~ so you can be 5 years older either with or without the degree!

I have many favorites on my blogrolls ~ depending on which blog of mine one is reading! Stop by and check them all out!
Some or informative regarding blogging techniques; eBay selling techniques; day-to-day chronicles of family life; money-saving tips. They’re all different. I enjoy reading them all.
What I particularly like is the international aspec that blogging provides! I’ve learned so many interesting things and topics from all over the world! I have many American friends, Pinoy friends, British friends ~ it’s delightful!

The best advice I can offer is to give it a try, and write what comes naturally, in your own style.
Join the many Mom Blogger groups ~ they’re so friendly and willing to share all their experiences, SEO techniques, and Blogging 101 lessons!
It’s enlightening, theraputic, and fun! It might even lead to careers, or hobbies you never ever thought of!

On occasion. I’ve installed some widgets that make Web 2.0 possible to do this.

My extended family members check in every now and then. My daughter’s in-laws also follow me from out-of-state.

All the time. I visit 5 Minutes For Mom, of course; The Mom Bloggers Club; Posh Moma, Hip Mama’s Place; eBay Coach Free Forum, where I’m a Moderator; and many others. All the links are posted on my blogs.

I do most of my blogging late at night into the wee hours of the morning, as I have a full-time job (that I continually blog about trying to retire from). I’m a Baby Boomer, and one of the reasons I started my Boutique site, eBay Store and Blogging was to try to get this going so I will have it up and running smoothly when I am able to retire. Hopefully, in the not-too-distant future!

I would say I spend at least 35 hours per week writing and reading blogs, dropping EntreCards, etc., all this in addition to my full-time job and responsibilities at home.
I’m driven!

I occasionally use Technorati, but mainly stick with EntreCard, Blog Her, The Mom Blogger’s Club, and link-rings from other blogs.

I originally got involved in blogging through my online friend Suzanne Wells, the nationally known eBay Coach, who writes the blog eBay Selling Coach. Suzanne has encouraged me all along the way and become my Mentor ~ in addition to inviting me to be a Moderator on her eBay Coach Free Forum.

The first blog was definitely Suzanne’s, eBay Selling Coach.

My desire to retire keeps me going and plugging away at all this 125 percent!

and finally, my second blog,
Moomette’s Mama Mentor Blog

As a lifelong Paralegal, writing comes naturally to me. What I find difficult is that all my writing has always been technical in nature. It’s difficult to transition over to a “conversational” tone.
I am inspired by all the knowledge and originality that so many young women out there are showing!
And what’s equally amazing is, there are many Baby Boomers such as myself, who are finding themselves and letting it all “hang out” after all these years!
