The Green Sling — Inside Scoop

The Green Sling

When we first found out I was pregnant my husband and I were overjoyed. We wanted to be "prepared" for his arrival and read what ever we could get our hands on (insert newbie parents here). When Mason came into the world 5 weeks early, my training as a postpartum RN, preconceived notions, reading and all of our research went out the window. What we did know, was that we wanted what every parent wants-the very best for our little miracle. For us, this includes gentile parenting, breastfeeding on demand, co-sleeping, baby wearing, and cloth diapering. I also became a vegan.

The Green Sling is affording me the opportunity to be in the best place possible, at home with my son. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Why Wear Your Baby in a Sling?

Babies whose mothers wear them in slings are calmer and cry less.

Slings provide a gentle way of transitioning babies from the calm environment of the womb to that of the outside world.

Babies in slings continue to be rocked by their mothers' movements and to hear their mothers' heartbeats. This helps them to regulate their own systems.

Helps learning and display enhanced visual and auditory alertness.

It facilitates bonding.

Mothers are more easily able to calm their babies if they are frightened, providing a safe haven.

It is easy to nurse discreetly.

Easier to carry on their normal daily activities.

Traveling is easier when babies are tucked securely into slings.

There are so many reasons why you should consider using cloth diapers. Cloth diapers are amazingly soft. Cloth diapers are also free of the many chemicals contained in disposable diapers. When you use cloth diapers you are recycling because they are used again and again, not entering a landfill. Here are a few facts to help inform your choice.
