Comment on How Do You Know God is Real? by Carol

Wow. This devotion has really spurred some great discussion. I know God is real and told you in my devotion just how. I hope you know God is real, too. For those of you who don't, I"m sad for you. I wish you to know the joy I feel in Him. There is no doubt bad things do happen in this world. And I'm not going to deny that there are times you can re-tell things that are described in the Bible (man coming back to life, talking serpent, talking donkey, etc) and think they do sound a little crazy. But - and that is a big BUT - that is where faith steps in. Faith is believing in something we cannot see.

Thomas doubted Christ's resurrection until he saw the holes in Jesus' hands and feet.
Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." John 20:29

I pray those of you who are seeking will find Him.

Over time the symptoms of depression got easier to handle as I developed an understanding of the disease, and tireless work on my self from a bunch of angles reaped enormous benefits. Would you agree with this approach?

This was great! Just what I needed to hear! I sometimes wonder if multitsaking is all it's cracked up to be, as we're told in the Bible 'live a quiet life, and work with your hands.'
Thanks for the gentle reminder. :)

Jarge,

The closer we become to the father the more that we will understand Remember, deep calls unto deep,,,,

I pray that he will give you understanding in the spiritual things of the Lord.
You have to seek him out as a pearl ,,,,
being totally yieleded can bring on travail but it's only when there is a purpose it doesnt happen just becasue you are yielded..
I did not say that becasue we are yielded that we will travail it is only a part of the total design.

and what is an unapropriate place?? G-d can do what he wants anywhere he wants to who are we to determine what is apropriate?
Search the scriptures,,,,, he did travail in a public place.

The complete Jewish bible,

Blessings,
Renae

This was a great post and is very true with me at the moment. My health has been in a crazy spiral and 2 surgeries later I have majorly slacked off in the bible reading dept. I have been wanting to find a devotion book or something to get me back into reading. Awhile back one of the writers on this site did a Galations study and it was great. If you have any insight on a great devotion book to read along with my bible please let me know. But it is nice to know that I am not alone in all the craziness that life decides to throw out at me.

Travailing prayer is important.
However, I would caution people to use discernment and common sense in where and with whom it is done. In Matthew Jesus told us to go into our closet, shut the door and the Father who sees in secret will reward us openly. Travail is not to be 'display prayer'. If you have a need for others to know about it and see it, check your motives!
Do we pray travailingly and loudly in private - or do we feel it is only important and significant when we have an "audience"??? We need only an audience of One for this type of prayer.

And don't let it be the latest thing or just something we are "into".

I would also include cornmeal and club soda for household cleaning. Cornmeal works in a similar fashion to baking soda. It's very absorbant and works incredibly on grease spills. The club soda includes sodium citrate (great on grease and gum). The carbonation works as an abrasive that slightly aggitates the spot or spill. I like to mix 50/50 white vinegar and club soda for most of my general cleaning.

I loved what you wrote. We can all agree how hectic life can be and it seems sometimes like life doesn't always go as planned. We have to trust god though, because he is our greatest hope. Without him, we have nothing. Sometimes I feel as if I am asking too much from god all the time. Then, one day, I read that he gets more upset when we don't come to him. He is our Almighty father, our sheperd, our best friend and he always has time for us. I feel so comforted knowing there is a God who loves us more than we can ever imagine. Thanks again for your words of wisdom. Christine
