I was lying in bed Sunday morning before church when the song Amazed came on. From the first time that I listened to it years ago the words have touched me. The man, Jared Anderson, who wrote the song was being interviewed about how the song came about. It struck me that as God’s children He, our amazing God, thinks we are amazing! I mean, He really is amazed by us and in a very positive way.
The Lord, on Mother’s Day, brought to memory the birth of my first child, then the second… Then my granddaughter. And it was such a fresh recollection of how amazed I was by these new creatures who are so “fearfully and wonderfully made” by the hand of God in His image.
If we are so very amazed just imagine how God, as our Heavenly loving parent, is amazed by us! We are so precious to God, so loved by Him. It is so comforting to my soul and He did so much more than we can ever imagine by sending His son to save us so we could be with Him forever.
I am amazing in His eyes and He is so amazing in mine… Now that is a wondrous relationship.

You are so right, Kathleen. I often compare parenting my own kids to how God parents us, but usually I am thinking how much I must frustrate Him! But I know He does also love me as much as I love my kids.
Beautiful post. And it makes me think about how proud I am of some of the things I create…but humans, there are so many amazing things about the human body alone that make me question how anyone could chalk it up to evolution. But God marvels over each and everyone of us…a proud parent. We are so loved/
Kathleen,
Beautiful post. When I became a parent, I felt like I understood God’s unconditional love a little better. Thanks for the reminder!
