As mothers we often find ourselves exhausted and spent. How can we be refilled so that we can continue to pour out?
That is answered in the Word of God.
Exodus 33:14, “The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Our rest is not found in the number of hours we get to sleep. Praise God, right? Our rest does not come from “a day off.” Our rest does not depend upon us! That’s something we should rejoice in! It is our Father in heaven that gives us rest. ONLY in HIM can we find true rest.
Where do we find the time? We don’t. We simply make the time. God is our priority. He is our lifeline. He is our source of being and our source of REST.
Luke 1:37, “For NOTHING is impossible WITH GOD.”
We know that verse, but do we CLAIM it?! Do we live by it? Do we hold onto it and let it minister to our hearts? We can learn or memorize scriptures like this but if we do not claim them and trust them then we are no better off than not knowing them at all. How can we lead our children and teach them about the word of God if we do not know it and rest in it?
I encourage you to wake up each morning and start your day off in prayer. Ask God to guide you. Ask Him to be with you EVERY second of the day. Pray that you will feel His gentle, loving guidance. Slow down and pay attention to what He is saying. What are we in a hurry for? It’s time for us to slow down, speak the word of God, and trust our days to Him. If you have found yourself run ragged then I would bet that you have not taken your day, first thing, to the Father and asked for His blessing and His guidance.
We must consider what truly matters in our days. Only the things that have ETERNAL value should we seek first. Yes, of course our children need food, clothing & love. But even more than they need those basics, they need GOD in their days. They need to hear you speaking the Word over them. They need to learn the Word each and every day of their lives.
You will be giving your children an amazing inheritance if you simply commit to making each day a blessing to them where they are bathed in scripture and walking along side a mother who adores her Father. Everything else will fall into place when we put GOD first. The Bible shares that with us in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
He is right there, waiting for you to seek Him, waiting for you to call out to Him. He is always there, whether you FEEL that He is or not!
Deuteronomy 31:8, “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
We can be SURE that if we FEEL God is no longer with us – it is simply US that has moved… not the Lord. During those times we can renew by asking God’s forgiveness and handing our lives back over to Him – where they belong in the first place.
What are we waiting for?

Cassidy, I am so glad that Faith Lifts is up and going again! I can’t tell you how much reading this this morning means to me. It is exactly what I needed to hear. I love how you stated if we don’t FEEL God then it is us that has moved, not Him. Time to get back in His word everyday!!
Thank you for the encouragement & reminder to BEGIN our day with God. As I was reading this, I was picturing in my mind what that would look like. My day either begins with a knock at my door as my day care children arrive (and me jumping out of bed to answer the door) or me jumping out of bed to get my son ready for school. Then I thought ~ what would it look like for me to take a few seconds, say a quick prayer for my day (knowing I’ll spend more time later) and THEN jumping out of bed to face the craziness of my day?! I plan to try that tomorrow morning. Thanks for the encouragement & scriptures to go with your words.
