When we began our homeschool journey I wanted to read as much information as I could. Searching through homeschool blogs became an obsession as I gobbled down all the inspiration I could get. Something that I found very resourceful is finding online homeschool subscriptions for encouragement. I signed up and now regularly receive e-newsletters that inspire the homeschooling mom. Kinda like Homeschooling for Moms.
The Daily Focus is a newsletter from aop.com and I don’t recall exactly how I got signed up for this one, but I’m thankful I am. I read their daily devotions everyday and feel as though the writer is talking directly to me.
Many of you are familiar with The Old Schoolhouse magazine and a friend of mine gave me a back issue of theirs when I first brought my kids home. She had gotten it from another homeschooler, but the subscription cost can be overwhelming for a mother on a tight budget. The Old Schoolhouse has other newsletters that you can glean from though. You can view and sign up for all their free newsletters here.
I consider myself an Eclectic Homeschooler, as I don’t use textbooks for all our educating and I don’t use books from one curriculum series. I enjoy using the library for our History and Science, yet I prefer that we use textbooks for Math and English. The Eclectic Homeschooler online has a newsletter and has online information that is helpful for any Eclectic homeschooler.
Then I found the Everything Homeschooling online website that offers free newsletters as well. For many moms the internet is such a valuable resource for homeschooling. The internet is a world full of free information to inspire and educate anyone, including our children.
My most recent discovery of internet homeschooling treasure that I found is The Heart of the Matter Online Magazine. This is a group of Christian homeschooling moms, who many of you may already know. Their blogs have been a source of information for me over the last year of our homeschool journey and now they have come together to offer moms an online resource for free. You can subscribe to their newsletter and get all their updates. Not only do they have a monthly newsletter, but also more articles throughout the month. The most exciting thing for me is that they asked me to write a monthly column for homeschooled girls. I’m honored and excited to be joining their team and I know you’ll enjoy the articles and projects they are sharing at The Heart of the Matter. You can view their first Debut Edition today.
I do hope these online resources will be helpful to you in your own homeschool journey.

Lisa-
Thanks for sharing these resources! I am sure that others will glean some good information! I have enjoyed writing for the Heart of the Matter and think it is a great place because no matter what kind of homeschooler you are, you are bound to find a place where you fit in.

HOTM is such an awesome place; I’m so thankful I can be a part of it!
