“I’ll water it later,” I thought as I noticed my houseplant that was beginning to wilt. It was only slightly under-watered and I was very busy getting ready for a big vacation so I did not have time to tend to it.
This same thing occurred two more times. Each time I noticed the plant, it hung lower and lower until finally the leaves were facing the ground as if downcast. If I had not taken the time to finally water it before our vacation, it surely would not have made it.
Likewise, when we get caught up in the busyness of life and put off the watering of God’s word, we too can become wilted and downcast. We have a more difficult time overcoming the many difficulties that come up in life.
When we meditate on His precepts day and night, we are like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers (Psalm 1:2-3).
Let us be careful to not procrastinate as I did with my plant. The rewards are great. We are full of life and rejuvenated. We are able to bear fruit that can be offered to others for their nourishment. Our faces will be radiant and lifted up, as with my plant that was finally watered, giving glory and praise to our Maker.

Thank you for sharing this with us.((hugs))
I can so relate to your devotion. My the time the summer camp season was winding down here I was indeed wilted… Spending time with the Savior was the only thing that truly rejuvenated me. Thank you!
Goodness, my begonia is wilting as we speak. I’ve meant to get to it all week. In fact, I actually neglected to water it (and rake the apples under our tree) so I could… do my Sunday School lesson and devotions today. If only I could find time for everything…
