Just Between Friends

One of my big goals this summer was to garage sale shop, garage sale shop, and uh…..garage sale shop. Unfortunately Parker’s health issues have been such that I haven’t been able to make it to one single garage sale. Drat.

I’ve done the consignment store thing and well, it just isn’t what it used to be. Our local children’s resale shop no longer carries the great stuff it used to. And what it offers as payment for your items for sale is, quite frankly, almost insulting. I’m not one to think just because one of my kids wore or used a certain object that it’s value is now far greater than any other like item. But when I would rather just give an item away rather than sell it to them, well that in and of itself says something.

So I was very intrigued when I discovered Just Between Friends. I was impressed with the whole organizational set up. And so I signed up. It will be a lot more work than a yard sale or just dumping my stuff off to the local resale shop. You bring everything on hangers. You download barcodes for each of your items to help you track your sales. I think that is great. And I love the fact that since I will be a consignor I will be able to have an hour to shop before the general public gets their turn at all the loot.

Now I realize that JBF’s is local to me and perhaps no where near you. But don’t let that stop you from clicking the link and checking it out. This might be a good idea to implement where you live.

I’m going to put my profits from JBF into our (rather slim) Christmas fund. And hopefully I’ll find some great deals to save back for gifts for my kids.

Sounds like a win-win kinda deal to me!
