Yes---yes! I know that these fruits are in me, but I also have to remind myself that I do have the power to live in gentleness and self-control and that usually it's my sinful choices that cause me to react in a different way.

I've been reminded about the fruit of the Spirit lately as well. They are indeed opposite of our fleshly desires aren't they? I'm glad we have the Holy Spirit to help us change!

Yes, I have forgotten. And the reminder kind of hurt, actually. But in a good way. I will be doing some knee-time tonight, I think.

Thanks for the reminder. In fact, last night I was troubled and couldn't sleep, and asked the Holy Spirit to bring to mind what troubled me. It turns out it was people I had harbored ill feelings to from long ago and didn't realize I still had those feelings. And I didn't realize what a hindrance that was to my time with God. No wonder I was struggling with my prayer life which seemed like me talking and never listening! Well, no matter how hard it hurt I asked to be 'shown' everything that needed weeded out - and The Spirit did it! I was so refreshed and felt a great burden had been lifted off of me. Wow! Then I felt so close that I could really talk with God - and not 'at' Him. Thanks again for a wonderful article.
