God’s Love via the Internet

Posted By Lundie

As you may have read, there was a beautiful little girl who died this week. Her mother and aunt are members of the blogging community, and I cannot tell you how much it hurt me this morning to read of their pain and loss. What makes this unusual is that before today, I had never known these women. Never browsed their blogs. Never heard of them. And yet, the pain and sympathy I feel for them is sharp and real.

I realized today that though I am a WAHM, with very little external adult interaction, I DO have a community. These ARE my friends. Just because the age of technology that we live in has changed what people understand to be community, does not make it any less real.

We can share our love for Christ. We can encourage and uplift. We can help where help is needed.

This should obviously not replace our face to face relationships, and as with anything, we must place our priorities as God directs. But what I want to suggest today is that we need to act in our internet lives with the same godly love and respect as we are to do in person. There is enough ugliness in our world, and on our internet…I’d like to suggest that now more than ever we need to take our place and spread God’s love here as well!

Pure and lasting religion in the sight of God our father means that we must care for orphans and widows in their troubles, and refuse to let the world corrupt us.
James 1:27

And now I urge you, dear lady, that we should love one another. This is not a new commandment, but one we had from the beginning. Love means doing what God commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.
2 John 5

So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
John 14:34-35

Get in there! Interact! Love. Share. Embrace. Support. Be Love.

    Dear Lundie,

I found your blog from Heather’s. It’s so beautiful, and so full of HOPE.

I’ve enjoyed being here and plan on coming back.

I hope to start a blog one day myself.

Thanks for being such a bright light in this dark world.

    Keep holding on my friend,

    Susan
