His Planted Word

Posted By Lundie

He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word.
And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession….
So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives,
and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts,
for it has the power to save your souls.
James 1:18, 21

We are holy. We are special. We are vessels that contain the word of God. God wants so much to be connected to us and joined with us that he implanted us with his powerful word.

Isn’t that amazing?

And not only that, but I want you to take a look at the verses above and notice something. God plants this word in our hearts. This word isn’t just book knowledge - it’s becomes a part of who we are. Deep into our core.

And this is for all of us, no matter what stage we are in our walk with Christ.

I am writing to you who are God’s children
because your sins have been forgiven through Jesus.
I am writing to you who are mature in the faith
because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning.
I am writing to you who are young in the faith
because you have won your battle with the evil one.
I have written to you who are God’s children
      because you know the Father.
I have written to you who are mature in the faith
because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning.
I have written to you who are young in the faith
      because you are strong.
God’s word lives in your hearts,
and you have won your battle with the evil one.

1 John 2:12-14

So, it seems to me that the most important thing that we can do is to cooperate with the growth process of the word in our hearts.

I will study your commandments
      and reflect on your ways.
I will delight in your decrees
      and not forget your word.
Psalm 119:15-16

Let’s just get into our Bibles this week. Let’s feed that seed of the word that God has planted. May our hearts be open and like soft fertile soil. Let’s study, reflect and delight in Him!

  1. Thanks Lundie. You put together these scriptures in a very powerful and pointed way.

Thank you, so much, for the reminder…what a privelege it really is to have His word right here, in my heart.
