Great comparison! I'm going to link back to this from my decluttering blog (www.villageblogger.com/flybaby)-- a little spiritual housecleaning is good for everyone!

Great post, Katrina. When I think on how all those extras weigh my purse down, if I think that way about my heart and my walk in the Lord all those extras truly weigh me down and make it so much harder. And sometimes I think it's such a little thing but if I don't clear it out a bunch of those little things will build up and become a lot.

That is so true. Not only do we have clutter in our houses and our handbags, but in our hearts and minds as well. You're right, it's so important to keep that clutter cleared out. Not only does it weigh us down, it blocks our vision so that we can't see clearly whatever we are looking for. It can keep us from hearing the voice of God. We can even use our clutter to hide behind so that others-or God-can't see the "real" us. Thanks for making me think about my clutter this morning!
