As moms everyday we are faced with problems for which we do not have the answers. Right now I am struggling with how to assign chores and allowances. Do I pay my children to do tasks or do I have them do task because they are a member of our family and serving others is just what we do? And if I do pay them, how much do I pay and how do I keep track of the payments?
So what do we do when faced with these questions? We seek help. We call our friends, post message on online forums, Google our questions, spend money on the latest parenting books and tune in to catch the latest episode of Super Nanny.
We are doing what God asks us to do when we are look for wisdom. He tells us, in regards to wisdom, that “those who search will surely find me.” Proverbs 8:17. But those places where we are searching aren’t where God hid the answers. Those “experts”, even our friends, don’t know what God has planned for each of us and what he wants us to do when raising His children that He has entrusted to us. Pause right there…You read that correctly. That’s right, they are His children. We only hold them in our hands for an instant.
So what do you do when you have someone else’s child in your home and you aren’t sure how to handle a situation that you are faced with? You call the child’s parent. So, if you aren’t sure what to do with God’s child, call that child’s parent.
Call upon the Father. God has the wisdom that we are searching for, all we need to do it call him up and ask his advice. You don’t know His phone number? Just open up The Book and browse through it. You’ll find His number on every page.
One added advantage with God’s parenting advice…it comes with the promise that is guaranteed.
“They make the things happen that I want to happen, and they succeed in doing what I send them to do.” Isaiah 55:11
What about you, what issues are you facing with your children right now? Have you turned to God for His guidance?

Oh yes - it is so important to go to God. So often I just pick up the phone and talk to someone so I can “hear” a voice and get immediate feedback. But I need to take my son to the Lord, both for wisdom and to pray for protection and guidance for my son.
Thanks Jenny!
We’re facing some pretty major decisions we need to make within our family right now. The thing you said that made some serious impact was that J5 is God’s child. He is ultimately responsible for his well being. That has given me so much relief and I have now placed the whole issue before God for his buy-in. Thank you Jenny!
THank you. A timely reminder for me as it seems that each day, there is a new challenge where I’m left saying “huh?” I have to remember that I am His and so are my kids.
You said it so perfectly.. we’ve had many things happen lately and God is just fitting all the puzzle pieces together in His right order…
God bless,
Sallie
