Thank you, sister in Christ, for writing this. In the past I had heard that our thinking is like the engine pulling the train...they affected our emotions which in turn affected our actions. I heard a local pastors wife on television the other day saying we can let our deeds change our thoughts as well as our thoughts change our deeds. She said, I love that! Lord help our minds get renewed and help us act as if we know it's the Truth. O unhappy and wretched man that I am, Who will deliver me from this body of death? O thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord! There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. God bless you! I was just having that same conversation with the women in my Bible Study this morning, over the issue of sin and wanting to be a new creation. When we become a new creation, we are no longer slave to the sin. We are set free in Christ. That doesn't me we won't sin...it means we don't have to keep on sinning. (Romans 6:18). I think such a key element to understanding all this is realizing it does start in our minds...and acting "as if" seems like a brilliant way to start living in the freedom Christ has paid for us!
