Very inspiring, Elisa! Convicting also because I'm on the road to getting my relationship with God back to where it used to be and better, but daily study in God's Word is something that I still am striving for. Prayer has been easier to put back into my busy days, but I know it's wrong to constantly have a one-sided conversation with God - me talking, but not listening. Thanks for the nudge!

Yes, Yes, Yes! Quiet time is so much more than I ever expected it to be. I started having mine about 5 years ago too. When my 2 kids came along later, I really struggled. I had to realize it had less to do with "how much" time I had to spend and more to do with just being obedient, reading quietly, and listening.

Right now I'm using "Experiencing God Day by Day". It includes a journal where I write out my hearts prayer for that day. I love it and know I will enjoy looking back at it in the future to see how much I'm growing.

hehe well........... I do my "God Time" first thing in the morning, thought I must admit lately it's been slacking b/c I can't seem to stay away (pregnancy is killin me this round!).. in our afternoon quiet time, I do sleep.
I did need a kick in the pants today as I've been feeling guilty about my time lately. So thanks for the reminder and encouragement!

This was a great encouragement Elisa! I have never really done a prayer journal before but I think I moving more towards that this year! My times are inconsistent as far as time of day. I am so not a morning person, so mine tend to be more in the morning sometime when I've got the kids settled and can sit down. Chris at "Come To The Table" has also told us about a "Life Journal" that I am going to start this year.

I love your friends advice: "Get real and get God off your to do list". I think I'm going to write that down somewhere and have it where I can see it. It is so easy to fall into that attitude without even realizing it and then wonder why your relationship with Him seems stale. Great post!

These are great thoughts, Elisa. My time with God has been okay recently. I always wish I had more time (and of course, I do have more time, so I guess I wish that I gave Him more time), but I have managed to work it into a consistent part of my day. Today was especially rich, so I looked forward to a peaceful morning with the kids. Well, the "insurance" didn't pay out today. My daughter and I grumbled and yelled. ARGH!
