Wow -- This one really got me to thinking -- the whole post took a different route as I typed. Thanks for asking this!

What a relevant topic to all moms, especially during this holiday season which should be joyful, but is often filled with the stress of life!

I know I hit it at a different perspective, but it's something that has been going on with me lately so it seemed right. This is my first time participating in the meme though I have been reading for a bit. Thanks for the opportunity!

[...] * Faith Lifts - Dec. 11th * December 11th, 2006 at 7:21 am Discussion: How awesome would it be if today, in our daily life, our entire city could hear our rejoicing from far away! In what areas of your own life do you recognize lack of joy and thanksgiving? Is your heart joyful in the everyday mundane stuff? Amazazazazing! Heather’s morning almost mimics mine minus the medications and the 30 minute drive. I definitely have busy mornigs. Three of my kids go to the same school this year - one gets out at 11:30am and the other two at 2pm. My oldest daughter - thankfully - walks to and from school, which is about a 3-minute drive from the house. The past few years it has been very hard for me to take joy in the mundane. I have even gone so far as not wanting to be a mother. Too late for that, though. My oldest is 15 and my youngest will be 6 in a couple of weeks. It has been a constant struggle to find my place as a woman and a mom in today’s society, and still follow God’s Words in several passage, but particularily in Ephesians 5. Little by little, though, I’m find joy in being a mother because I’ve resolved myself to the fact that being a great mother, wife, and housekeeper will keep me sane, undepressed, and create a happy household overall. Things that make my morning go well are laying out the kids clothes the night before (including socks and shoes), having backpacks ready to go the night before (each kid has a box by the door where they keep their school stuff and library books), and of course, getting them up early enough to do all the stuff they need to do before heading off to school. [...]

A very timely topic. I lost my joy today, and thanks to seeing Faith Builders I was reminded to let the joy back in and to be thankful for things, even if I find them to be stressful.

Wonderful topic Heather - and I can relate to rushed mornings - even though I have nothing like the amount you have to do!

I wrote about those days when grumbling robs us of our joy.

Okay ignore my Mr. Linky which takes you to the wrong post but this is probably what I need to read right now. I'm in a grumbling mode right now and I just need to be thankful.
