Today marks day 30 in our month long theme of Thanksgiving. What a wonderful way it has been to spend the days leading up to the begining of the JOYous season of Christmas, the time in which we celebrate the birth of our King.
I am very thankful for the other contributors at Faith Lifts. They are all such remarkable women filled with so many wonderful words and bits of wisdom. I am so glad that they have all chosen to share them with us, here. And I’m thankful that their amazing entries make up for my lack of them!
We began the month with Katrina reminding us to be aware of the blessings that we are surrounded by and give thanks for them. She said:
We can’t be thankful for something if we are not aware of it, right? And the key to being aware of those benefits that prompt us to give thanks is simply this: we must pay attention.
It was a great begining and an even better reminder.
Heather challenged all of us with her weekly Faith Builders meme. She called on us to be thankful with our giving, to thank God for the hard times as well as the easy, to truly appreciate life, and to be thankful for the bumps.
Janice called on us to give thanks for the bloggers that we have been blessed by. She asked us to share a blogger or bloggers that inspire us and lift our faith up. It was a truely inspiring post and a great way to spred the love to our favorite blog reads.
Lauren reminded us to be Thankful, Regardless. She challenged us, saying:
Let us determine this and every day, no matter what it brings, to sing and make music in our heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I know this isn’t always easy but I must remember, eternal life in heaven far outweighs anything I could possibly have to endure here on earth.
Susanne wrote:
You have to plant your seeds of being thankful. Sometimes they are easy to see seeds that can be plopped down one at a time with no effort, those times in life when it’s easy to be thankful. Everything is going great and falling into place. And other times, when times in your life are rough, those seeds are tiny and hard to see and hard to hold and plant. But if we do the painstaking work of looking for those hard to see seeds and planting them, God will provide a harvest.
She reminded us that we need to plant seeds of thanksgiving and cultivate them so we can come out of a hardship and still have an offering for our Lord.
Jennifer gave us a sweet reminder to give thanks for our friends, saying:
Some friends do pass in and out of our lives, meaning that we may not be a part of each other’s lives beyond a Christmas card each year, but I believe that our friends leave an indelible mark on our souls–especially those with whom we laugh, mourn, or grow.
She also reminded us of the words that proclaimed Thanksgiving day.
Marybeth shared a pearl of wisdom from a friend: “Don’t let the bad days define you.” in her entry entitled Thankful for Good Days and Bad. She notes:
In God’s grace, He makes all things new—new day, new attitude, new perspective. He is the God of second chances—for wayward children and hopeless moms. He is the God of hope and He restores our soul on those days when we feel worthless.
I’m sad that this month is ending. It has been so inspiring to read the enties and comments as well. But in keeping with The Glad Game, tommorrow brings the begining of a new month and a new theme here at Faith lifts- JOY. I can’t wait to read more.
I’m also very thankful for you. Thank you for coming to Faith Lifts. Thank you for your comments, your links, and for sharing us with a friend. If today is your first visit, I hope that you come back. Thank you.

Laura, what a wonderful wrap up of the month. There was so much I also took away from both the posts and the comments. It would do me well to start a little journal type of book just from all the golden nuggets I am picking up.
I am thankful for you, dear friend! You bring so much joy into my life and I am so glad that we live “right next door” to each other again!
Heather
I really enjoyed reading that, Laura. I was very blessed by all of the posts this month, and I am so thankful for FaithLifts! It has definitely ministered to me.
What a great synopsis of the theme about giving thanks. Thanks Laura!
What a great wrap up. Thanks for all your work behind the scenes.
