New kids’ programming on Hulu Plus: #Doozers #Giveaway

Jennifer D. is here to share this sponsored giveaway. We were compensated for helping spread the word but my opinions are my own.

Things have certainly changed since my kids, now 10 and 15, were preschoolers. We had cable, sure, and we had children’s programming available most hours of the day, but not all. We also had some DVDs and VHS tapes at the ready.

But in the last 3 or 4 years, my own TV viewing and that of my children has changed. Today’s parents of young children have so many more options. I know it might seem lazy, but accessing content right on my TV is easier than dealing with a DVD. Streaming content doesn’t get scratched or lost or otherwise destroyed. What’s more, older preschoolers can easily access it themselves.

I think it’s cool that the streaming services like Hulu Plus are creating new content for kids. Doozers is the first Hulu original for kids. It’s a brand-new show from Jim Henson Co. (Dinosaur Train and Sid the Science Kid) and DHX Media (Yo Gabba Gabba, SuperWHY!). Watch Doozers on Hulu at http://hulu.tv/i7M  beginning today, April 25.

The Doozers are inspired by the Fraggle Rock characters. I love the bright colors, and I think their upbeat attitudes will inspire. The goal is to “inspire kids to design and create. The four Doozers kids from Doozer Creek, known as the Pod Squad, put their ideas into action. What kid wouldn’t want to design their very own Doozer Derby racing car, fly in a jetpack (or better yet…fly with a kaleidoscope of butterflies!), or build a giant life-sized gingerbread house?! Whatever they are doing, the Pod Squad always manages to have a fantastic time!”

I like that even though we don’t have cable anymore, my daughter can still find entertaining childrens programs.

I love the foreign films. It’s a great treat to be able to watch Truffaut and Malle films on my own schedule.

I love that you have greater control on what you watch and don’t have all the commercials like on regular TV.

  4. Jennifer J says

I love that I can go to sleep at a decent hour and still keep up with my shows without having to buy a DVR.

There’s a wide number of things… As I have given it thought, the primary answer would be – I like that even though I can’t afford to have nice stations, children can still find entertaining / educational programs.

  7. Tammy S says

I like that they have both new and old shows. So you can always find something good to watch.

  8. harold says

I love the selection of older TV shows, that I can watch… Many of which I can’t find anywhere else.

My son (1.5 yrs) LOVES Doozers. My only complaint is anytime I start to play something else on hulu plus he sees the screen and starts dancing around asking for it :). I tried to find some toys/books/etc but all that shows up are collector items from the 80’s. Any chance there will be any merchandise emerging?
