We’ve had a rough winter and school will going on a spring break soon. While I am excited about the warmer weather, I don’t have any activities planned for my kids (7 months, 5 & 9). What are some spring activities that will keep the kids entertained?

Plant a Spring Garden
Gardening is a fun activity that the whole family can enjoy together. Get the kids involved by having them choose what fruits, veggies or plants they want to grow. You can find kid sized tools like rakes, pruners and wheel barrows at your local craft and sometimes gardening stores.
Talk about what dishes you hope to make once your produce is ready to be harvested.
Of course, don’t forget to make sure that the kids help tend to the garden once it gets going. Pulling weeds, watering plants and helping to pick produce and herbs are simple tasks that will help teach them responsibility.
Take Nature Walks
Taking walks together is not only free, it’s fun and good for you too. Make sure that everyone is wearing comfortable closed toed shoes before you begin.
Taking nature walks is great because it’s something that the whole family can do together. Even baby brother or sister can come along for the walk either strapped in a carrier or pushed along in a comfortable stroller. As an added bonus, the walk may even put the baby to sleep.
Plan a Spring Tea
A spring tea party is a unique way to enjoy the gifts of mother nature during this time of year.
Plan for your spring tea party to be outdoors in a beautiful garden or outdoor park. You can even hold a spring tea party in your own backyard.
Have your children dress in beautiful spring colors like pinks, greens, yellows and baby blues. Serve crustless sandwiches, tea cookies and cooled tea or beverage of choice in fancy tea cups. This is great way for kids to practice table manners and implement how to be courteous to others.

we had a garden for a few years ow , but this year i think my daughter is old enough to have her own box. I plan on building her one and helping her paint it so she gets more excited about tending it. Can’t wait! For now we still have snow.

My baby is too young for us to play in the garden together but the idea of spring tea party for new moms in the area is something that I’m working on.
