Kelli,
What a beautiful way you have with words. Your mom told me that a few weeks ago when we spent the night together for our 40th reunion. I had the priviledge of knowing your grandmother and grandfather. I had the opportunity of going down and staying wiht your mom and grandparents after our high school graduation. I remember your grandparents as being kind and gentle people and loving the people they worked with there on the island. You indeed do have a rich heritage. The Lord has truely blessed you. You also have an awesome mom. Esther

This was a beautiful post! I'm California born & raised in the Bay Area, just like my grandmother. But so much of her story takes place in the South PAcific where she & my Grandfather met & fell in love during WWII. My Grandfather was NYC born & raised. I would dearly love to someday visit NYC to see where my grandfather was raised, and to someday travel to New Guinea to see the place where my Grandparents met & fell in love, the place where in essence, my life began...
Thank for a great post and lovely pictures!

This is a wonderful story. I totally agree that we need to preserve these stories and the photographs that go with them. I have my mom's and my grandmother's old photos which I plan to turn into printed books so that my children will know their heritage.
Wishing you a picture perfect day!

What an absolutely incredible story! I have tears in my eyes as I read this. Thank you so much for sharing. My family and I served for 4 years as missionaries and I just love reading about others who have lived over seas serving other people!

(I think comment number two on this post is spam)

What a wonderful tale. I am going to check out the links to the rest of it now. I'm sick with a cold today and a bit weepy from it and the story. What a blessing and a legancy that your grandmother left her words and wisdom behind!
