Yes! We’re giving away an American Girl Doll!!!
5 Minutes for Mom contributor Jennifer reminisces about her daughter’s younger years and introduces you to Saige in this post, for which she was compensated for writing.
My daughter is now 15, and her American Girl dolls are packed away. But that means something. They are packed away, not given away or donated, because it’s the kind of thing, like books that we’ve loved such as Good Dog, Carl and my son’s LEGO and trains, that I’m saving for future generations. These dolls last, and they hold their value, both sentimental and monetary.
When my daughter was 8, not only was she into American Girl dolls, but I caught the bug, too! I was so amazed by the worlds created by the dolls and the books, that I became a bit of a collector as well. There are entire communities of adults who appreciate and collect the dolls. I dipped my toe in, but I really appreciated my daughter’s reinvigorated interest in creative play.
The Girl of the Year is a special limited-release doll. They are each girls with some sort of special interest and/or ability. The books that are published go into her story.
